How to Find Direction and Inner Peace as a Teacher
Day 15: Reflection Journaling
Today concludes our practice of 15 Days to Inner Peace and Direction. It also concludes The September Teacher: Reground, Reassess, and Relate. In this time we have regrounded by journaling, meditating, and providing ourselves with care. We have reassessed by revisiting our vision, collecting and analyzing data, as well as strategically using that data to discern how to best support students. And we have related by sharing gratitude with our students, their families, and colleagues. My hope is that these 15 days have helped you to find both inner peace and direction.
Based on our time together and the exercises you have done over the course of these two weeks, today I want you reflect on three things:
- What have you learned? Perhaps about yourself, your students, your colleagues?
- How do you feel? Having gone through these various exercises, my hope is that there are some positive feelings (hopefully some inner peace) and I also hope you feel like you have more direction. Despite my hope, while journaling, be honest with how you are feeling. If it is differen than how you are wanting to feel, then consider what you need more of in your life.
- What are your thinking? What has this journey made you think in regards to new practices, what you need to do more of, perhaps less of, or simply differently.
No timer for this journal. Simply answer the questions and share ANYTHING else that is on your heart and mind.

As an educator, I know how hard things can be, all of the time, but ESPECIALLY during specific times of the year.
