How to Find Direction and Inner Peace as a Teacher
Day 1: Revisit Your Personal and Classroom Vision
If you have not yet written a classroom vision or personal vision for yourself this school year, then visit this post to be guided through the vision creation exercise.
If you HAVE already crafted a personal and classroom vision, take out something to write with and on (or type on) and answer the following questions?
- Do these visions still ring true to what you want your life and classroom to look, feel, and sound like? Why or why not?
- What are you most proud of in terms of what you have accomplished so far this year as it relates to your visions?
- What things have you done to support your efforts in these accomplishments (be as exhaustive as possible)?
- What things are still missing in your life and classroom as it pertains to your vision? Why do you think that is?
- What are some things you can do strategically, thoughtfully, and meaningfully to bring those missing components to life? (If you have trouble feel free to contact me and we can spend some time talking through strategies! I have a bunch!)
As you consider the need to reground and reassess, I would encourage you to do this exercise monthly so that you never lose sight of what you want to be true for yourself this year!
Facebook Community Action Step:
Either
- Share your classroom and/ or personal vision with the group and/ or
- Share your answer to question #3: What are you most proud of in terms of what you have accomplished so far this year as it relates to your visions?
