How to Find Direction and Inner Peace as a Teacher

Day 2: Gratitude Journal

Today is about sitting in gratitude for all that we have, especially at our schools and within our classrooms.

As I mentioned in my June Teacher post,  I have always found it cathartic to look back and remember what the year has held. Similar to June’s prompt, this reflection should be the best of times thus far this year. Just pure gratitude.

  1. Take out your journal, the audio recording on your device, your computer, really anything you use to capture your reflections.
  2. Put a timer on for 7 minutes. (Feel free to also tune into this great Spotify Playlist for Mindful Journaling.)
  3. Write down every big and little thing you are thankful for from this year. Even if you need a moment to think that is okay but just keep writing. (I wrote down my coffee…)
  4. After the 7 minutes, reread what you wrote and thank the universe for what you have been given so far this year.

Facebook Community Action Step:

Either

  1. Take and post a picture of your gratitude.
  2. Share with the group 5 things you wrote down.
